If you are newer to this How to read a pattern without losing an evening. 01 The number at the end of a round That bold figure is how many stitches you should have once the round is finished — not how many to work. Count them before you move on. 02 Why the marker matters Continuous rounds have no join, so there is no seam to find. Put a marker in the first stitch of the round and move it up every single round, or the count drifts and nothing tells you. 03 When the number disagrees Do not carry on and hope. The fault is almost always in the round you just finished, not in your hands. Stop at the round where the number first disagreed — everything after it is already wrong.
